One Wonders Why They Have Always Taken a Slow Approach in Handling African Crises
Written by Mohamed Omar Hussein
Monday, 02 June 2008

Mogadishu, (insidesomalia.org) - It was practically possible for America to mobilise its allies and form a coalition of forces to wage a brutal war against the people of Iraq, at the expense of its sovereignty. The world's bodies like the UN, AU, and the international criminal court (ICC), have also neglected the events in this war-striken country, which has now generated one of the world's biggest humanitarian disasters. The level of intervention by the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) is also questionable.

The Burundian troops are inexperienced in fighting terrorists and desert battles with ill-facilitation, and they have also been unable to contain civil conflicts in their own countries. This is yet another sign of relaxation and neglect of events in Somalia.

The World cannot allow this trend of humiliation of humanity to continue. My humble appeal to the international community and super powers is to act now.

The worlds helpless people are watching and crying out for assistance. No legacy is as rich as honesty. This should be our guiding principle.
